1st official Scrapmatts POst.. YAY...

Yay.. Scrapmatts .. woot woot.. Sofie and Andrew have been super kind to me and sent me their super awesome CB 7001 House Book to play with.. so here it is...

i had so much fun with this .. and for those who know i'm not much of a Mini album person but this is fun...... i simply teamed the book with the super amazing Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 Papers and the matching ready set chip...

and finally Page 6.. the last page.... i really LOVe the way this album ended up.. all the textures and colours.. and for the journalling i simply used the Serenity verse.. {the Serenity to Accept the things i Cannot change,the Courage to change the things i can and the wisdom to know the difference..}

Show Us Your STuff.. _ Jan...

well its here already.. the middle of the month so challenge 2 over at Show us Your STuff...

We have a recipe challenge for you this time. You must include the following things on your layout.

*Stitching (hand, machine or faux)
*Misting
*buttons
*4 or more patterned paper
*Something handmade!!

And Here is my attempt...
"Blessed"

oh and i must first of all say.. eEEeekkkk...... My Sis partner took Her sewing maching back.. i mean HOW DARE SHE!!! doesnt she realise how vital it is to my creative juices... really.... and then i read ..... STITCHING for the reciepe.. well i just thought.. well feed me garlic and call me stinky..just my luck... so i had to revert back to that horrible age old method.. hand stitching.. i mean... how much longer does that take..and you cant possibly do messy stitching trust me i tried.. i just DOESNT work... so i drew a pretty little flourish and stitched it..... see below....

and then i cut the umbrella from some super websters..


and added some buttons... looks coolio hey...

and as part of the Dt we got sent a pack of two Pretty Petals flowers.. now arent they just gorgeous.. i have used this White tissue paper one and dunked it into some glitter for some extra zingg....
the second pretty petal will be shown in a couple of days.. LOVE it...

so on another note we have all seen the horror of this last week.. and today i was Touched right down to my soul.. i was at work.. Slow day so i was merchandising all Adidas.. and a man and his wife and sister came in .. nothing unusual about that..anyho i asked in my nicest voice if i could help with anything.. he said he needed some trackies.. anyho.. found him the ones he needed and asked if that was the best price.. then i told him what i could do it for... and then..... he said will it make a difference if I say i'm from Grantham and i have just lost everything, everything i'm wearing belongs to others.. well my HEART just sank... so after checking with the manager we agreed on doing it at a well below cost price.. {shhh dont tell the big bosses we'll get into trouble}.. and then he said well i need shoes as well.. i dont have any shoes... so i helped him with that.. the whole time he just kept patting my back and saying Thank You and SOrry.. i mean really HE is the last person to be sorry... my heart just BROKE for him and his wife.. they then said how they havent even been able to go home to see what if anything they have left.. its been 5 days since the disaster and he still isnt allowed home because they are still searching for people who are missing from that tiny town... well.... in the end he left.. after thanking me a gazzillion times.. and well it left me.. rather FLAT.. i had to go out the back and pretend i was doing something for a while just to stop my hands from shaking.. to say it made my day ... even thought its a sad story ... it just made me realise AGAIN how wonderful i have things.....

okay .. so enough now..

therapy...

After all the images of total destruction that i have been seeing yesterday i needed to escape for alittle while.. the best way for me to do this is to scrap.. so last night after the kids went to bed i took some time out...

i know its a very simple lo but i just needed an hour to lose myself and to relax..

the journalling. what a funny but cool cat we have.. and yep he scares alot of people who come to visit esp when he stands up and drinks straight from the fish tank... LOL. it is seriously funny and he has NEVER even bothered to try and catch any of the fish and the fish dont seem too worried about him either...
yep.. spending time together sweet hey.. and the button is Lil Red Rocket... YUmm...

and lastly my thoughts are with those of my scrappy friends Leanne A, Elise Mackay and Annette Lose to name a few who are on alert to evacuate or in Annettes case looks certain to lose her home.. what we have had here at my place is NOTHING and i feel so sorry for all those who have lost Loved ones, pets and possessions.. i am Blessed that all my family is safe and well... and i also just want to say a HUGE thank you for all the comments and txts to check up on me.. i love you all...

i am so pleased to say that we didnt cope the worst of it... but here is some....

this is the creek really flowing.... wow.. what water..usually you cant see any water AT ALL from our fence..

okay so sorry to bore you with all these photos..but was a pretty momentus day.. and Toowoomba had SUPER flash flooding..and you'd think we'd see it often but we dont because there ISNT A RIVER flowing through town..usually west creek is nothin more than a trickle... wow.. so my thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by all this water...and my thoughts are especially with my bud Paula who is a full time firie and is at the forfont of this disaster..... stay safe..

i HAVE seriously been creating.. a super AMAZING if i do say so my self.. {well so far} mini {but slightly bigger than mini} Album.. and i have also completed 2 layouts but these are all for DT's... so i cant share..
so i think that when i get home from work tomorrow i am going to do a Just COz i can layout.. not for anyone..Just me.. i have some NEW photos to play with and i just cant wait..yay...

so .. WHats everyone been up to...... Tracey is coming for a sleepover today and we are goin to the movies to see Gullivers travels.... and of course scrap.. Still have to get up at 5 for my walk/run... been everyday since chrissy including chrissy day and feel so much {well alittle} better....

December Scrapboxx.. Layouts...

so the december newsletter of the boxx has just arrived... and for the month i was sent the BOY kit

... with the theme being,,, childhood memories of christmas... or a Tradition either new or old..
and here are my 2 that i created from it..
"Santa Photo"
and the closies....
this is the orginal polaroid photo.. {yep i know i should have scanned and reprinted it..blah blah blah..but i ran out of time..yep i know one of the few times that i wasnt as organised as i should be...}.. oh and thats me on the right and my big sis Shell..
i cheated and used the packaging from the frame.. loved OLD SCHOOL so i knew i had to use it.
and the title and the frame.. oh with it i cut the middle out [so i could use it again}.. and filled it with someof the pp and then added the letters.. {ps the little round ones arent in the kit}..
and the journalling.. again from the packaging for the frame...

so next was my original and first layout that i did for it.. well its one of the only things that i remember as a tradition....

oh everything here is except of course the stitching is from the kit.. nothing else added....

the title and one of the photos.. and to answer your question.. yes i did sleep with my camera beside my bed so i could get the photo.. funny thing though.. i had the idea in my head... and one night went to bed ..woke at 4 o'clock on the DOT but didnt have the camera beside my bed and thought bugga it i'll do it another day.. LOL.... so then had to force myself to wake up.. LOL.. the things we do...

okay so on another matter.. i just want to thank you all for all your kind words both on here and facebook.. Mum is doing great.. she is complaining she is bored..LOL... and soon after arriving back home from the hospital she lit up a smoke..and YEP.. dad and I did say some nasty words to her.... {SERIOUSLY}... but anyho. she just has to have some more tests but looks like it was only a very minor heart attack but was brought on by her hernia.{its on the inside}... so they think she will have to have that operated on.. but we'll just have to wait and see.. so yep..

i didnt see new years in.. oh unless through my eyelids whilst in bed counts..>LOL....

oh YEAH.. i also did this one with kit but added all the scrapmatts chippies... and i still have a fair bit of pp left for more..
