challenge take 2...

you remember a couple of posts ago it was my turn to set the challenge over at THE BOXX for the fortnight and i'd done a layout for the example and i hated it.. {thanks heaps for the lovin by the way ladies}.. the inspiration is the work of body artist Emma Hack and anyho i did another layout to make up for it.and this time i went on a whole different track... i focused on her backgrounds.. they look like wall paper.. so bright and superbly fun.. so thats where the inspiration for this comes from..

oh i KNOW how cute is that photo.. our daycare was lucky enough to have this years photos taken by LaBelle Photographics and i love this one of Ivy... so cute...{{oh oh so sorry for the dodgyness of the photo of the layout.. overcast day today.. whoops...}

OK so yesterday was a big day if you are into the whole Scrapbooking Memories Masters... the masters got to OUT themselves...and after a morning of speculation and a little game by me.. {hehehehe}... some super excitement for me when some of my closest scrappy friends were announced.. so congrats to my peeps Renee Iveson and Kim Jeffress.. and also to the super tallented Leanne Allinson..and then dont forget the one i stalk and drool over the most.. the super human Louise Nelson..

i am so excited for next years mags.. {appart from the fact i already have a few commissioned..lol} the diverse range of artists this year is amazing .. i am so EXcited for each and everyone ......... yay...

ok.. so there you go.. i have no other news at the moment.. still nothing on the house... still nothing goin on in my life.. yep.. i know.. boring... but i did go and see the uber tallented Belinda Lowe for a haircut and you all know how much of a superb job of them she does.. so .. by for now.. its just started to RAIN which is crap coz i'm supposed to do an outside photo shoot this afternoon.. DARN IT......

helloo.. i'm back... i just wanted to share a layout that i created for Scrapboxx for our manufacture/product watch.... and i chose to highlight the Pink Paislee Mistables series of stuff... {Plus i cheated alittle bit and added some other gear.. you know me, i seriously struggle with using one collection/brand on a layout.. i know my bad...}
so this is what i created..
"I Love You"
and some closies....

i made the flower by misting a strip of the medium sized scollop strips with two different colour glimmermists and then did the whole pull the ends together with thread to create a flower.. added one of the fuzzy vinyl stickers and a button..sweet hey..PS the butterfly is from Clear Cut Crafts......... AND then...

some more scollops... 1 strip glimmered and the other left raw and then drew with pen to create an outline..
and there.. can you see the mask.... the black bit.. hang on .. maybe scroll back up the top and have a closer look.. but i first up misted the mack black through the middle..and then stuck the fuzzy vinyl tree on there and it was just alittle white.. so i just squirted some yellow for alittle extra zing.....

and yep.. i've done the whole tear thingy again... i know ..and whoops..but if at first you dont succeed try try again..lol...

first up.. Scrapz.biz is having a melbourne cup sweep... so i thought i'd have a go..here is the criteria.....use this sketch

When i picked up my last order from Heike she asked why i get these A4 book board sheets.. well this is why..you can cover with heaps of texture paste and glimmer and it DOESNT buckle..perfect ............
there is my twine or ribbon.. and a ScrapMatts Frame... alittle simple stories alphas..
YUMM... i knew when i saw the inspiration that i HAD to use one of my Clear Cuts Butterflies.. which also reminded me of HOW i really NEED to order some more... eeekk......
and then some playing for the background with Texture paste that i stamped the heart in.. waited and waited for it to dry and then coloured and drew around and then finished with the liquid pearls.. [wouldve sewed but its WAY too thick for the sewing machine...]

Scrap the Girls.. GRUNGE style...

so i have done my first challenge for the month.. it is the scrap the girls May challenge,...
"Scrap a layout based on an important female in your life. Extra criteria: more than 20 words of handwritten journalling"...
so i thought i'd give this one a why not go... so i had a look.. and since i've already done a layout of my MA recently {{yep yet to be seen}} i thought i'd do one of my Big Sister....
and well things didnt quite go to plan.. it started out with a great big... AHH CRAP...

see.. i was folding the foldies but didnt watch what i'm doin and stuck it in the yet to dry black paint.. crap.. so i could've taken the easy way out and tossed it..but instead i fixed it...
and here is the result...

YEP thats right peeps.. it kind of went on the grunge side of GIRL.. lol... but you know what i really like it.. it just suits Michelles personality to a T.. she isnt a girly girl... and she's alittle grunge... so yay..

OMG the work there is totally amazing..whooley mackdooly..wowzerooni.......

J to the Mack sketch inspiration....

so the featured member at the boxx for December was the Jess to the Mack dog.... and as part of her boxxyness she had to design a sketch.... and here it is...

so from that farout brussell sprout sketch came..
"Sweet Innocence"

i initially started with the green flower pp as goin to be the background and the lace over the top..and well you know the flow changed and my river ran in the totally opposite direction.....

see the lace paper... cute hey... i think the wonderful Renee gave me that and the most wonderful Kim Ewins sent me a rak which included that delicious velvet ribbon....

and a super Scrapmatts {cb 5052} Floral spray... and some clear goodness from Little yellow bicycle..

OMG how cute are those butterflies..yep ordered me some more of them this morning.. yes i know smack on the wrist for me... eek...

so thats all the scrappyness for now.. and now for some stats.... so far this year i have completed... 11 layouts, 1 card and a super HUGE mini album.. not bad so far i reckon...lol..

oh oh and for excitement {well for me anyho}.. i get my Sewing machine this week.. since tomorrow is a public holiday.. Happy Aussie DAy.... i will have to wait until thursday..but woot woot ... yay.. i cant wait...
